Coronavirus

It is vitally important that we all stay safe. Please act responsibly.

Covid has NOT ‘gone away’!

Stay at home and avoid contact with others if you have symptoms.

Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home. They should avoid contact with other people where they can. They can go back to their setting when they no longer have a high temperature and are well enough to attend.

What to do if you have any of the main symptoms of COVID-19

The main symptoms of COVID-19 are:

  • a high temperature (37.8°C or above)
  • a new continuous cough
  • loss or change of taste or smell

If you have any of the main symptoms of COVID-19, you should stay at home and follow the guidance above for people with symptoms of a respiratory infection.

What to do if you test positive for COVID-19

Stay at home and avoid contact with other people

Many people with COVID-19 will no longer be infectious after 5 days. You should therefore avoid contact with other people for at least 5 days after the day you took your test, or from the day your symptoms started (whichever was earlier).

If you are concerned about your symptoms, they are worsening, or you can no longer manage at home, seek medical advice by contacting your GP or NHS 111. In an emergency dial 999.

In This Together:

We continue to work together to keep everyone as safe as we are able to. We seek advice from Neath Port Talbot Local Authority, Welsh Government and Public Health Wales.

We fully comply with health and safety law by assessing risks and putting in place proportionate control measures.

We review our health and safety risk assessments thoroughly in collaboration with the local authority and trade unions. We regularly review our plans for each term which address the risks identified using the system of controls set out below. Essential measures include:

  • a requirement that people who are unwell with symptoms of COVID-19 stay at home
  • robust hand and respiratory hygiene including ventilation

Essential Reminders:

If your child is unwell with covid symptoms, please do not send them to school. If your child displays any of the symptoms, they will be sent home in line with the most up to date advice from the government. Please take advice from Public Health Wales if in any doubt.

Please do not be offended if staff contact you to collect your child, or if entry to school is denied following signs of ANY of the COVID-19 symptoms. We continue to follow our strict risk assessments in order to keep everyone as safe as we can.
