Welcome to Central Primary – Croeso I Ysgol Gynradd Central

Welcome to our warm, friendly, and inclusive primary school! Nestled in the heart of Port Talbot between the beautiful Rivers Afan and Ffrwdwyllt, our school is a vibrant place where each child is valued and nurtured. We’re proud to have two distinctive sites that offer unique and enriching experiences for our students.

At our school, we believe in working ‘hand in hand’ with families to provide the very best primary education. Our website is a hub of information, keeping families, prospective families, and friends connected with everything happening at our school.

We warmly welcome both new and returning families to our joyful and successful primary school community. It’s a privilege to be part of your child’s educational journey, a journey we aim to make as fun and rewarding as possible. We understand that a child’s education is a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity, and we are committed to making it a memorable and enriching experience.

Every child deserves a safe, secure, and stimulating environment where they can develop a love for learning—about themselves, their friends, and the world around them. At Central Primary School, we offer a holistic curriculum that celebrates a wide range of achievements and fosters natural development.

Our mission is to equip each pupil with lifelong skills to face the 21st century with independence, confidence, and success.  Our school values, The 4 R’s’, underpin our daily school life.  We want our children to grow and develop focusing on ‘Respect, Resilience, Responsibility and Relationships’. We provide a wealth of opportunities to help every child reach their full potential. Our pupils know their efforts are valued, and they are always treated with respect and fairness. We encourage them to believe in themselves and support them in achieving their goals, empowering them to succeed.

Our motto, ‘Hand in hand we believe and achieve,’ is at the heart of everything we do. It guides our daily activities, from collective worship and teaching to extracurricular activities. We cherish our close partnership with parents and families throughout this precious educational journey.

Welcome to our school community, where together we believe and achieve!
